Summer is here – time for a touch of la dolce vita, Roman style, from Conductor Laureate Vasily Petrenko. In fact, he’s got a whole concert full of pictures to paint and stories to tell – fairytales from Rachmaninov, Spanish melodies from Prokofiev, and a powerful, pocket-sized Russian symphony by Prokofiev’s underrated friend Miaskovsky.
