While Max Bruch’s fame was secured forever by his early First Violin Concerto, his late works deserve a wider audience. The Sitkovetsky Trio offers a selection from the set of pieces the 72-year-old composer wrote for his son, a fine clarinettist, freshly arranged for piano trio, presented with Cécile Chaminade’s impassioned Second Piano Trio and Brahms’s majestic Piano Trio No. 2.
